Start Enjoying Healthy Joints Now!

Regardless of the workout that you place on your body and joints, the health of your joints is the key to succeeding in any sport. Joints are constantly being stressed in most sports. Flexicose liquid glucosamine offers many benefits to athletes worldwide.

Flexicose is a glucosamine high in quality that improves health of your cartilage and joints. Athletes are more prone to cause damage to their joints, and in turn, are also in higher need to provide the best protection and health to their joints. Through liquid glucosamine found in Flexicose, high quality and protection are directly provided to joints.

Glucosamine is a key element in building cartilage. It is essential to have enough glucosamine in order to produce cartilage. An adequate supply of water is also needed to build cartilage. Water is used to “oil” and protect the joint. Flexicose Glucosamine gives the body the materials it needs to create the “lubrication” inside the joint.

Over time, cartilage begins to break down in the joint and causes the bones to start rubbing. This rubbing leads to pain and inflammation in the joint. There are ways to correct and prevent this from happening! Flexicose supplies the ingredients needed to repair and rebuild damage cartilage found in joints. In only a few weeks, athletes have felt significant improvements in their joints!

Flexicose is also used as a precaution or preventative for joints. It is always better to stop any damage before it starts than to find that it has to be repaired. Athletes need more cartilage protected than others. Make each workout count and give your joints and body all it needs to succeed, Flexicose!

The Basics of Glucosamine

Osteoarthritis is usually associated with problems such as physical injury caused by sports, obesity and ageing. All of these problems can contribute to the degeneration of your joint cartilage. Usually, analgesics (such as aspirin or morphine) and anti-inflammatory agents (such as ibuprofen) are used to manage osteoarthritis. Studies now show glucosamine supplements such as Flexicose provides relief from symptoms related to arthritis without side-effects commonly seen in other drugs.

Some European countries have approved glucosamine sulphate in the prescription form for osteoarthritis.

What is Glucosamine Sulphate?

Glucosamine is a mixture of a sugar and a protein that is naturally found in connecting tissue and joints. Most scientific studies about glucosamine refer to it as glucosamine sulphate. When it is sold in the form of a supplement such as Flexicose it is usually mixed with a Chondroitin Sulphate. Chondroitin is usually found both in and around cartilage cells. It is suggested that this mixture repairs some existing damage done to the joint.

Although osteoarthritis is still not completely understood, it is believed to destroy cartilage due to the loss of proteoglycans and collagen. It is suggested that glucosamine regenerates damaged cartilage because it is essential in making proteins or proteoglycans, which are key elements to build cartilage. Collagen, a fibrous protein used to make connective tissue, and proteins provide both strength and support that the joint needs. Glucosamine pulls water inside the cartilage in order to maintain the 70% water content needed. This also produces a gel filled sac to provide cushioning and flexibility needed in the joint. Therefore, supplementation with products like Flexicose is believed to magnify glucosamine already naturally existing in the body.

Supplements are either extracted from animal tissues such as crab, shrimp shells or lobster or chemically synthesized and then sold. The common compounds used commercially are N-actyl-glucosamine, glucosamine hydrochloride and glucosamine sulphate. It is usually sold in the forms of oral capsules or tablets. Flexicose delivers its active ingredients via a liquid.

Where is the evidence?

A study from 2001 was published in, medical journal, Lancet shows that glucosamine can effectively control osteoarthritis symptoms. The study also shows it can also produce some reversal appearing in the disease process. In 2003 scientists reviewed effects reported in 15 studies by using glucosamine and/or chondroitin containing supplements such as Flexicose on osteoarthritis found in the knee. Treatment with glucosamine or glucosamine plus chondroitin was found effective. This study also concluded that the supplementation improves joint movement for 1 in 5 patients. It may also slow the narrowing of joint spaces.

All these glucosamine clinical studies in arthritis of either the knee or the hip, note the following:

  • Reduced symptoms do not occur for a few weeks after beginning a glucosamine treatment
  • Benefits continue for months or several weeks after glucosamine treatments have been discontinued
  • There are no reports that show continuing use will reduce the efficiency or impact of glucosamine

What are benefits of Flexicose for athletes with joint injuries?

A study published in British Journal Sport Medicine (2003) gave patients experiencing regular pain in the knee a 12 week supply of glucosamine (2000mg per day). The results showed that using glucosamine supplements provided pain relief. It also improved the mobility in patients who were experiencing chronic knee pain regularly which was caused by cartilage damage and possibly osteoarthritis. Almost 90% of the group reported less pain.

What are the effects and cautions of Flexicose?

  • Few side effects have been noted in reports through medicine books or websites. Side effects may include headaches, skin rashes, dizziness, diarrhea and flatulence. Long-term side effects are not yet know.
  • People allergic to chitin found in shellfish should be cautious at that is where glucosamine is extracted. Most allergies are not caused by the chitin, but by the proteins found in the shellfish. These individuals should consult their doctor before using glucosamine.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women and children should not use glucosamine, as the side effects are currently not known.
  • Ask your doctor for more details before taking Flexicose if you have other medical concerns.

What do I look for upon deciding to take Flexicose as a glucosamine &/or chondroitin sulphate supplement?

The contents and quality of dietary supplements are not regulated and therefore will vary. Before taking these products it is recommended that you:

  • Consult your doctor both to decide what is causing the pain and this will work with current medications.
  • Choose a product that is manufactured by a well known company that you can trust.
  • Read the directions and use of product carefully.

The dosage used in most studies is between 1500mg-2000mg each day for glucosamine and 1200mg each day for chondroitin sulphate. Flexicose supplies a full dose of glucosamine in a single, daily dose.

Summary

  • If you use glucosamine sulphate, you should always make sure to understand the research regarding its effectiveness is inconclusive.
  • Athletes experiencing cartilage problems should remember glucosamine use is suggested by both reports and first hand experience in athletic populations. Ask with a doctor to test if you believe you have the described signs or symptoms.
  • Inform your doctor you are taking this product with other prescriptions due to possible drug related interactions or if you have any other medical conditions caused by this product.
